Finding Opportunity in Thing 17: Connecting to Community

Minnesota 511 is an app put out by MnDOT. It shows places drivers might have problems on the road that day. In the winter the roads are different colors to show the condition of that particular highway.  There are various symbols that represent what is going on at that incident. It could be a road closure for construction, an accident, watch for debris on the road, etc. A mixture of Minnesota agencies contribute to this app. The two most common are MnDOT and the Minnesota State Patrol.

Here is one day in late May.

If an icon is tapped it zooms to the place and tells about what's going on there.
This is a very helpful app in planning your route in Minnesota.
