Thing 21: Free-for-all is Not a Brawl

There are tons of great apps out there. You just have to know what your looking for. Many of them you don't know you need them until they are on your device.

Checking Apps Gone Free shows how wide a variety of apps are available. Previous posts, especially hobbies and games,  have already hit on some of the favorites. Here are some other apps that I like to use or would find useful in a library setting:

Plus One - A Nice Tally Counter
This app could be very helpful for keeping track of how many people show up for an event or program. It could also record how many questions are asked in a given period.

PBS for iPad
It's another app that is great to have. It allows you to watch shows that were missed or re-watch segments that you couldn't watch or need more details on. If you sign up with them there are more options available to you. You can see what is on your local station, list your favorites for easier access, and check out other programs that are related to what you like to watch. PBS has more apps that depend on your likes and needs; there is the PBS Newshour app and many apps for kids.

Farm Heroes SagaFarm Heroes Saga
One of the new favorite time wasters is Farm Heroes Saga. Farm Heroes is from the makers of Candy Crush, King.com. As of early June  I was up to the 90s in concurring levels. It's a game that takes spacial recognition, planning several moves out, and patience.
